I just came back from our last walk of the day and everything was going great (Amber wants to play with other dogs and pulls and barks at them, she was doing so much better and just ignoring them),

Anyway, along the last stretch I saw a lady getting into a car with a duschound (sp??) so I crossed over as we arent ready to walk immediately next to another dog, and Amber was being really good, until.... the other dog started barking at her. Turns out it wasnt on a lead, ran across the road charging at us barking away, Amber was going nuts trying to get her Halti off her face, but still responded to commands, so I got her to sit so she could calm down, the lady made no effort to get her dog which was in the middle of the road.

Smaller dogs always seem to go for Amber, the larger dogs tend not to pay any attention and neither does she. She's 35 kg so I know if she wanted to she would of gone for it.

Sorry about that, I feel soooo much better now Ive had my rant!

Ugh, some people

sounds like your making real progress with her

Well done to Amber for being so good and listening to your commands! I hate it when people don't keep their dogs under control. When I let Tess and Tina off their leads, they may go and say hello to other dogs, but they don't terrorize them! And they always come back when called.

My biggest pet peeve. I can't stand it when people have aggressive dogs off the lead. When we went to the beach recently, we came across a big Shepherd mix that "greeted" Stella with bared teeth and raised heckles. Of course the owner shouted from a hundred yards away, "She's fine!".

Well done, Amber, for ignoring the dachshund.

My pet hate as well. My dogs are all fine with other dogs but can be protective of me. It is so annoying when people let their dogs rush up to you and invade your dogs space, and invariably say, "Oh they just want to be friends"! If my GSDs ran up to them like that they would probably have a fit!

Yep there the ones, yelling 'oh, they're big softies' as they bear/bare? down on you with their hackles raised and growling!

People get scared when my wee Beastie runs at them (mini schnauzer) but that's only cos she works up all this speed and then her little portly body doesn't know quite how to stop itself and she goes smack into things

Im glad Im not the only one! I think a lot of people are scared of Amber too cos of her size and think she's going to eat their dog! It doesnt stop the little dogs presenting a challenge though!
