My horse has physio every 3 months as he gets a bit stiff in his back due to arthritus in his hind leg. She recomended that he has oil in his feed a few times a week.

Now..it was my OH she spoke to as I was at work.

Did he ask which oil? How much? How often?

All he remembers is that she said 'Just normal cooking oil...buy it from Asda'

Can anyone help please?

I was told to give my girl cooking oil in her feed one table spoon in food daily, but it might be worth checking again to see the amount as different horses with different needs might require more or less. It does help cost alot less than other equine products hope this helps

Corn /Maize Oil is the one you want. I believe sunflower oil has too much Vitamin E, which for some reason that I can't remember, is supposed not to be good for horses in quantity.
