OK folks, how often do you clean your tack?

I cleaned mine at the weekend...

....because I couldn't remember the last time I did it

I do wipe the bit down each time and my saddle is synthetic so it gets wiped with a baby wipe every so often...

I cleaned mine today! (but only because the saddle fitter was coming out to check my saddle fit and I didn't want her to see how minging it was).

i clean mine every time i use it, well the bridle that is

clean my saddle less often, probs once every 2 weeks
always clean and oil if tack gets wet
i am a tack cleaning freak

i hate stiff dirty tack with buckles you cant undo

When I had nice tack, it was cleaned at least once a week. I thought I was giving up, so all nice stuff went when my horse went to loan home. He is the best dressed happy hacker in the village!

Tack for current horse is not very good, so doesn't get cleaned very often.

Err...I used to be religious and clean it after I had ridden, which dwindled down to weekly, then monthly. Tend to clean it approx every 6 weeks in winter and 2 weeks in summer as it gets dirty more easily. Always thoroughly clean and saddle soap or oil it though
