Ok Gang, views please: Ariat Bromonts, Mountain Horse or Mark Todd field boots??

I bought the MH boots 2 weeks ago and i am not happy!! i went to put them on yesterday at sapey and i noticed that the dye had come out on the sides of one of them and brown leather was showing through!!!

also and this could be just me as i do have problems in general with my ankle getting rubbed to shreads, but the MH was have had my ankles covered in plasters after every use. My bromonts never once rubbed, i only had new ones as my bromonts are a tad too small now around my fat calfs so went for some elasticated MH.

My ariat close contact gaiters are xsm (not sure what the m is for!) and my ariat insulated bromonts fit really nicely and are the perfect height for me (my inside leg is about 31" if that helps?) I think they are the best bit of riding kit I have ever bought! :)

OK, just to throw something else in, how about the Ariat Challenge boots?

I have been eyeing up a pair in my local saddlery and tried some on the other day. I too am an XS in the close contact chaps and these fitted me much better than the Bromonts.

Oooooo - I hadn't seen those - off to have another look. They do look lovely - same sort of style as the Bromonts but probably a bit smarter for competition?

Gosh, thank you all SOO much, loads of input there :) Not sure where it leaves me though :p Think DN and SG are out on price so guess I'd better try the others on and see... Thanks again, much appreciated :)

The New Mountain Horse Supreme High Rider get my vote for the most stylish and comfortable. I have just bought a pair and I am in love..... Can't stop sniffing them - very strange...

I have also just seen a pair on ebay for £195!! Mine cost me £270!! Thankfully they are the wrong size for me so I don't feel quite so bad....

Funny this popped up again. After the very conclusive answer I got on the thread I decided I'd better try MH and Ariat, tried the Ariats both Bromonts and Challenge at the weekend. found the Bromonts (only one length available both too long and too baggy in the fit). Challenge ones were a better fit but still possibly a bit long and far less comfy, much stiffer leather. Thing is, although they are for competition I don't need anything too formal, I have smart dressage boots so these are for jumpnig phases, long boring days at BS shows etc :p Will try the MH ones next...

I have just bought the Mark Todd Field Competition Boot too - lovely lovely boot, far more comfortable than my Sarm Hippiques i kept squeezing in. Very smart.

Only ever had MH short boots and chaps for everyday but find these super boots, hardwearing too.
