Well done on making the right decision for Bear, and ensuring he avoids an old age full of suffering. I tend to look on the PTS decision as the price we pay for all the good times, it's what we owe the horse for all they've given us. It is a very hard decision to make though when it isn't triggered by something catastrophic (such as colic), so I admire you for putting Bear's needs first despite the pain it sounds like it is causing you. I hope you are ok (as you can be) tomorrow, and that the weekend away helps you over the raw bit of the grief. Sending you best wishes.

Thanks again guys, this morning couldn't have been anymore perfect - sun shining, naked grazing and a peaceful goodbye with his head in a bucket of food with added polos and carrots. an extra special thanks to my lovely YO and family who made sure everything was in place,
