For those that dont know, this is Godfrey horse. Now I want a new bridle for him for dressage, so it will be black to go with his dressage saddle (

) Sad I know! But I was thinking about getting a bridle with some subtle "bling" or brass on it, what do you think?

Can anyone suggest a bridle/browband to suit? Needs to have comfort headpiece, and can have flash or grackle....

Hmm, I like the slightly "droopy" browbands, but not sure bout full on V shaped bling....

Ideally want to stick vaguely traditional as will be used for eveniting...

Thanks, am going to go with a flash as will use for "pure" dressage too I think....do you think silver will be better than Brass...or diamonte

Well I like diamante but think it suits pretty girly types better.

He is very handsome but as he has no star/white to break up his forehead would use a wide browband with some silver metal trim running thru it (I hate clinchers!). Also if you can make his forelock plait longer that will help.

Thanks, yes thats why I would like *some* detail cos he has no markings?! Prob is with wider browbands is he has a prominant forehead, so they can make his face look unbalanced cos they sit above it....unless I buy a larger sized browband to fit over his "bump"

Ive got a Kieffer ergonomic on my boy. I bought the kieffer diamonte browband seperately and i think it suits him well without being too 'blingy'. If you google it you will come up with plenty of piccies and locally 4dobbin stock them. Heres Alfie in his:

Hope this helps!!

I was thinking of what benjisgirl posted but with silver 'chain' or similar instead of the diamante. The blingy bit is kind of inset into the leather and i couldn't describe it without a piccie. I think Keiffer do something like it and have seen some on the Frogpool Manor site.

Archie's lovely by the way!

oooer! I would say a nice chunky PLAIN leather bridle. He has quite a large face, and could take a reasonable amount of leatherwork which would make him look very handsome. You really don't want anything too fiddly and pretty on him as he is too butch for that!

I have an Albion KB Comfort bridle, the leather is amazing quality and it looks like new after nearly a year or wear. They also do diamante browbands and I've seen a very nice subtle black one

In the thread talking about the silver clinchers someone gave a link to a website that had some very nice comfort bridles on and a range of subtly bling browbands.

PMSL, Goddy, butch?!!!

He'll be very pleased when I tell him someone thinks that

He's a right girls blowse....bu thank you, yes dont think am going to be worried about shying away from some of the slightly "bigger" designs....thanks all!!

Another vote for plain leather hunter style bridle with a nice wide noseband & browband .. does he have to have a flash? a plain cavesson would look nice.

Sorry, I am another non-blinger although admit sometimes it does look nice on a plain horse. I don't think bling does a tobiano any favours.

Thaks Mickey, He is currently a muddy horrid creature at the mo....

He has a none bling bridle now...went to YHL and ended up with a nice chunky Albion bridle....didnt want to go down the "flat" route because it will mainly be used for dressage and he needs a flash becasue jusdges dont like to see him grinning all the time....will take some piccies of him in it later

Thanks everyone!
