Nothing to do with horses...................but because we are all friends in here........I got weighed today and I am just 2 pounds away from losing 3 stone in weight..........

..........I see a dietician once a month. I have lost this weight since 2nd March this year............still a long way to go.........want to lose another stone by Crimbo if I can....................

I was "supposed" to be allowed a riding horse by hubby if I lost the weight, and I have kept to my side of the bargain............but everytime I purchase a mare (as he wont allow me a gelding)..............low and behold it goes in foal!!

yay well done on the weight loss!! as for the mares!.........................well you cant help it if the foal stork suprises you with a visit and impregnants your mare!!!!!!!

OH that's glorious news!!! Well done you!!! I know what it's like to loose a load of weight - I've lost 5 stone since the beginning of the year!!
 
Aww thanks HG..............well its cutting right back on the portion sizes of food and doing more exercise. Today besides mucking out/bedding down the 16 horses we have inside just now (between me and hubby)...........also walked two miles during my lunchhour (in around 20 mins) at work and then 20 mins on the rowing machine tonight (burnt 991 calories!).

For breaky have: fruit juice & fromage frais
Mid morning: one slice of toast
Lunch: plain chicken, small pot of creamed rice (my treat) and diet juice
Mid PM: fruit
Supper: can vary but includes vegs, a meat and something else but I do allow myself anything but in moderation, this can include a handful of chips or whatever.
Before 7pm: If hungry I have a museli bar or something similar.

I dont drink tea or coffee just tends to be water or low cal juice or fruit juice/fruit smoothy..........never been a fan of tea or coffee at all..............

That is about it. I still self indulge in a bit of chocolate or whatever from time to time..........

Bananaman............I was like yourself in my thinking as well, but I would just see myself in a mirror and hated it...................I went shoping for the first time last week in Aberdeen and could go into so much shops to look for clothes..........gave me a real good feeling..................a bit of a boost!

Have always had a weight problem and I get a bit like people stare at me........call be neurotic.......

. The thinest I ever was when I used to do 5 hours step aerobics each week.....but was much younger and single then.....and could afford to pay for 5 exercise classes in the week.............

................have our new mare arriving tonight from Germany. We purchased a 3 year old De Niro x Hohenstein x Rubinstein black mare........she was being trained under saddle and I thought......yeehaa......get a mare that has been brought on by a nice rider in Germany and get her over here with a view to doing something with her next year.......however..........hubby could not help himself.............decided we did not have enough mares in foal and got her inseminated over there!!

The downside to being married to a someone from a farming background.......any form of 4 legged animal has to pay for itself........

oh well maybe next year when foaly is weaned you could hide her in a barn so he forgets you have her x x
 
StaceeyTanglewood - Klosterhof are a great stud to deal with. We have two mares due to Latimer next year and they were really helpful. Also went there in person in February and again they were really great at showing us the stallions that they felt would best fit our mares, and the stallions themselves are fabulous!

Thanks Volatis - im going to wait till April and see what my girl produces first (first foal from San Remo) then probably go from there - am also going to try and visit a few of the studs next year ive been to nijhoff and shockemohle !!!

Oh im so excited !!

Gorgeous mare! funny i was chatting with hubby last night about mares and riding after watching yet again Matinee doing her wonderful dressage test and saying how some mares are too good just to breed from but if they are that good to compete then shame not to breed with them lol i know ET is more available now but not everyone can justify the cost of it.
