12.2 gelding.... whom is called bubbles!
Past week has been a rollercoaster... went & tried Pony late last week & was told on phone that under no circumstance any trial period ( due to previous buyers parents hyping childs ability up ) seller saw Mini ride the pony & 10 mins after finishing told us to take pony on short trial - they were even that nice that they dropped him up to yard which is a good hour away the next day!!
Pony was really put through is paces by Mini's instructor & me aswell & did everything from flatwork to jumping, small hacks out & cantering in open spaces ( nearly too good to be true!!!!! ) For those that havent seen my posts on Mini here before she is an exceptionally gutsy confident little 7 year old rider ( not just me as her mum that says that ) who was just ready for the step up pony alot more forward going....... So vetting was organised for tomorrow but panic stations set in when got call from seller the other evening saying that people he knew who had tried pony 1.5wks ago wanted to take him with no vetting tomorrow ( they live abroad & had lorry going back ) ( I was told that people had viewed him but hadnt made decision when we looked at him first so was aware that might happen )
Thankfully got vetting moved forward to today & vet was absoloutly superb - explained everything every step of the way .. not just to me but to Mini aswell... and was very very thorough with everything...
So pleased to report he passed with flying colours.....
So meet the new addition!!!! He will be minis step up competition pony who has been there worn the t-shirt... He is already as mad about mini as she is about him - he nuzzles her soon as she goes into the stable... They will be making their dressage debut at the weekend ( first time Mini has expressed an interest in dressage lol & she will be youngest by about 8 yrs on the day but good to try something new ) & then after that will be loads of lessons with her coach to help them come together as a team but things looking great already ... I had them do some jumping yesterday & they just looked superb together... pony is really forward but steady if that makes sense - he went on one flyer but Mini felt it coming & was able to go with him.. and even though he is zippy he comes back to mini on voice alone....
Autumn plans will be hunter trialing & show jumping - ultimate goal is workers, registered SJ & PC eventing... ( thats minis decision - she aims high lol! ) she has a fantastic coach who will help them every step of the way.
Apologies about lack of new photos etc but will get some tomorrow.... I have been on protective mad insane mummy mode for past couple of days!!!
Glass of wine in order - can finally say we have found the best pony possible!!!
first time mini tried him - just click on link to view video.
