I went to a training day today without my dog. She is in season. It was nice to watch and I kearnt some new techniques. I now have a shopping list and need tge following
Lots of balls
Rope
Lunge whip or old stick
A lunge line
A new clicker- I have lost mine!

And all this just after xmas :(somif anyone is bored and wants to find the fheapest price for amy of the above, please feel free - new or used condition welcome.

Lots of balls - I would go for Gappay (the big rubber knobbly ones that look like they've been splattered with paint), Eurojoe (yellow knobbly ones) or Starmark (indestructible foam balls) with what you're doing, you can shop online or I can PM you preferred UK stockists if you want. I have the Eurojoe yellow balls on strings, they are a nice size for putting in a pocket but a dog with a strong bite can remove bits from them *cough*. The Starmark ones are big but they are the best ones I've used so far, got a couple with string and a couple without.

Lunge whip or old stick - do you mean a switch to make noise or are you trying to do straightening work? You could just grab a lunge whip from Ebay as mentioned.

A lunge line (Just get those from a horsey shop, ideally a couple of cheapo ones from Ebay or Amazon - you may end up going through a couple - or see the above sites for rubber long lines. Oh and wear gloves if you're using rope :p).

A new clicker- (Pets at Home do them)

Thank you pm list of stockists would be good.

And with regards to whip its for am excersise to build drive. Just to tie tha balls to and make it easier to flick them. I will also hopefully be able to get her to bark!

I found my clicker in my dressing gown oooops!

Cheapest clickers available from hawkin bazaar just search for insect clicker they are 50p each. I buy 20 at a time as I lose them so frequently.

There are clickers on ebay with a wrist strap for a couple of quid, I lose them if I don't have a strap. :o

Again ebay for lunge lines, if you search for 'long line' you can get 50ft nylon webbing lines for £7 delivered in a variety of colours. I hate rope and/or cotton, too heavy when wet.

Have you thought about a fleece tuggy instead of tying a ball to a stick? Lots of movement and can be grabbed along the whole length. I have a Tug Tastic one with a rubber ring end and they are excellent.

PM'd you - with regard to building drive, we just tie an old long line to a ball on a rope to keep it active. Or you could tie it to the tug - one thing though, you really want the dog to be grabbing the tug bang on in the middle as opposed to the whole length so that when you transfer to the pillow then the sleeve the dog is centered.

Noted with thanks. She is fairly accurate. I want to use a ball because i want to use it with the heelwork. I cannot get her to bark though :(

Okiedokie. Magnetic balls or a Eurojoe balldropper jacket might be on your shopping list then!
I can squeeze the Starmark ball in my armpit but it is a bit of a juggling session!!

One of the helpers should definitely be able to get her to bark through agitation? You need a helper who can assess and understand how to work dogs in prey and/or defence :)

Yes maybe I should wait till we go down to Mick. I havent done much agitation work with her to be honest. I shall put that on my to do list for our Jan session. I wish there was someone closer that is as good!
