Following on from post below... Got to paint both sides of the picture haven't we?!!!

Well I have had to retire once as horse wouldn't go anywhere near mirrors or judge's box so we were doing about a 15 m circle at one end!

Score wise, I think it's about 55% or something

48% with comments like 'well sat' 'patiently ridden' 'tactfully asked'

.... same horse now regularly gets BE scores in the 20's so the embarrassment in the early days was worth it- just about!

Can't remember the score but Claire did a ODE on her good showjumper once. He jogged all the way through the walk, did a hackey trot in the trot and sideways canter and tempi changes in the canter. Best mark was a 5 . She was almost in tears when she came out but he went clear sj and xc and came 3rd as the xc was very tough.lol.

It was our first test and he was only 4...but I wasn't expecting us to be that bad!! to summarise...he exited the arena 3 times, triped, cantered on the wrong leg on each rein and screamed at 10 second intervals. Got comments 'well tried - looks young!'

50% when I was 12 on a horse that had never done dressage before! The owner was very impressed as they didn't think I'd even get him in the arena
wink.gif
We did go onto score mid 60% regularly.

My worst in recent years was 57.5%, Goddy's worse ever test and Luckys first test

I've had a few low-mid 50's tests on Ronnie when we started out - but to be honest that was due to a number of zero marks in each test, as we either performed the movement backwards or not at all (he wouldn't turn his back on the scary hedge). Got a few 7's for his better movements, but the 0's brought the marks down. Lots of encouraging comments though, and kind words about the riding - tactful made me chuckle as yes, I was certainly being tactful - I didn't want to fall off!

Bless him

Not counting the forced retirement cos the swine ditched me our lowest ever was 49% from a swine of a judge. Not saying it was a good test but it was obedient and accurate and did not (IMHO) deserve to get so wholly slammed.

40%

with the comment that the horse was unhinged

Sadly, I thought he was actually going quite well for him

. Judge got out of car to offer advice. She thought I was joking when I said she should see him on a bad day

.

We didn't bother venturing out again, there's only so much humiliation a girl can take

i think around 51%.. manged to get this mark on the horse that has got the best marks i have ever had too!! when he was good he was very very good.. when he was bad he was horrid!! no, that's not true
wink.gif
it was one of the first tests he ever did, if not the first.
the old mare was never going to be serious dressage material (she preferred to canter everywhere) and only ever did a handful of tests but she was consistantly average and usually got mid to late 50's, her PB is 59%!

I had an ex steeplechaser who used to dressage 'wall of death' stylee. I think someone had told him it was against the clock. He was worse if he got a sniff of any XC to come later!

If we got over half marks it was a good day. The best test he ever did was in a hail storm, when he spent the whole time with his head tucked down to keep the rain out of his ears. Got almost 60% that day!

He improved a the longer I had him but was never going to be good. As someone else said about their horse, his XC was so good that he often got placed by being the only clear.

Dare i admit to a 38%??? At Elementary.

It was our first go & the arena surface was very hard, the mare hated the going & backed off in the medium trots, so i think we gotr 2's. The she broke in the counter canter Which i re-established as counter canter & the judge kindly gave us 0.
I don't think she liked us & everyone was horrified when they saw the sheet.
We went to to do much more sucessful tests than this & i just laughed it off.

I honestly can't remember the worst score I've ever had, I know there are have been some pretty poor ones
crazy.gif
But I do know I've had a 1 in a test - was at Stonar and as I trotted down the long side towards the school all the kids came screaming out of the door for their lunch break or somesuch: horse whipped round and p*ssed off back up the arena at speed
blush.gif
However, he also had some decent marks in that test and ended up getting a 28
smile.gif
Judge was a certain ex-HHOer - come back Lucretia!!!!

I got a score of 50 in an ODE once. The horse was used in a Summer camp and so had all levels of kids ragging him about all Summer long, on top of this he was also a part-bred pacer who DIDN'T do right canter, regardless of who was riding him (incl. an advanced event rider). I rode him a handful of times on the flat before the comp, once SJ and once XC so couldn't really have asked for much more, bless him.

Breezes worst is about 55% best 80% however one judge reduced me to tears saying i should do this, this and this... as Breeze was going so badly .... tense etc, can't wait to show the judge how she goes now
smile.gif

I got 46%, i'd never done a test, actually didn't know what i was doing. Didn't know how to get my horse on the bit, not sure if i even stayed in the arena. I actually cringe when i think about it. If i were even to entertain doing another one i would at least have a better idea of how to ride a test from watching my daughter compete. Think i'll keep my feet on the ground though.

It was a walk trot with my little boy
I even had a -2. I trotted between A & K rather than at A. (I think the judge was a little harsh!!)
The next class had a different judge and we got 69% to come 4th in a prelim. Judges hey!!

52.8%!!

Was our first time out
crazy.gif
- he came off the lorry doing star jumps as he thought he was going hunting
smirk.gif
!! Shortly after the heavens opened and we had the one of the worst storms of the winter just as we rode our test so wet and windy you couldn't hear the test being called
crazy.gif
- all the marks riding away from the wind, rain. horizontal hedges were 6's all the movements into the rain were 5's and a couple of 4's - apparently you don't get extra marks for halfpass in trot in a prelim test..................

Judge did comment that the weather didn't help was quite nice considering he nearly sat on the bonnet of her new BMW!!!

I'm the lowest!! 39%- generously marked! My darling horse decided that he was scared of the grass (there was a patch which was slightly greener), the markers (at 23, he'd never seen dressage markers before, poor baby horse) and also any leg aid meant gallop, but equally any contact meant slam on the brakes and stop. Came 4th eventually (it was a PC ODE).

38% on a steeplechaser!! Years and years ago when i was a teenager!! I remember it well - as he would only really bounce around in collected canter which was fine for the canter parts!!! But come to the trot parts- he wouldnt trot!! Just canter and buck!!! Naughty!! But as it was a PC ODE and he was a fab fab jumper he still managed 9th place!!

Snap! 48% in first affiliated in gale force wind on very spooky mare

very similar comment too including "fragile walk" the judge got out and said very well done, she would have retired. The unneeded half past facing the judge in canter just about topped it off! lol......Millitiger - I am hoping that I can match the second part of your quote one day on her too!!!
