Just a post really to show that ''old'' not not mean thin and useless. I still work Shogun just like a 10yr old and he really enjoys it.

He Still jumps and has the occasional buck of excitement. I used to do XC with him but have only recently stopped because any injurys could mean the end of him.

Wow, thats amazing, our 36 yr old has been retired for years now.
Surely he must be on the way to the guiness book of records!
Bless he looks very well and fit, well done. :)

Wow he looks amazing!!!

When the vet put my boy down he said he was well into his 30's early 40's - we had no proof, but meant id been competing him in his mid 30's!!!

It certainly eased the pain slightly when he said tis a testament to the wonderful life he had led. :)

Good luck to him, and heres to many years to come!

Wow what a gorgeous boy!! Looks fantastic. Good for you keeping him going, barring some unavoidable problems and your personal situation it can sometimes be the best way :) My OH guessed he was about 10 when I asked him lol!!

He looks fantastic for his age and what a wonderful life he has had as well, as the family ride.

I have a friend on the IOW who has a ride n drive mare in her 30's. They do something every day together. They nip about the hills and villages in the little red and black exercise cart she bought her and the mare canters up the field to go to work she's still that keen, which I think is amazing! My friend has said though, that if she stopped working her, she would go down hill very quickly and it would be impossible to bring her back.
