My old boy is having a bad day .
He's eaten some human food but won't drink .
I have managed to syringe 30 ml water but that won't go far have tried various flavoured waters and putting some pieces of Turkey in water , milk ( often works ) but he's not interested .
Any ideas .

Goats milk? Mine are raw fed but my dog doesnt drink enough, he does sometimes drink goats milk. We also have bowl of rain water in the garden that he will drink, same with filthy muddy puddles :D I dont know what yours is fed, but trying mixing his food with water. They will quite often eat sloppy tasty food when they wont eat or drink normally

Try adding some glucose to his water. Alternatively, boil up a chicken carcass or two and make a proper stock from him to drink when cool.....I'm sure you wouldn't, but don't use a stock cube as a short cut - too much salt!

He's brighter to day .
Ate breakfast turkey and brown rice milk and water .
I left him at home yesterday for three hours while I too a horse for a dressage lesson he was with my SIL so not alone but he hates me being away .
My brother says he being manipulative ( not sure he's clever enough ) .
Anyway I am taking him him in the lorry today I should have done that yesterday .

Bless him, glad he's a bit better today.
Your brother's comment made me smile, my old girl manages to get exactly what she wants these days because she's a partly blind and deaf, creaky old bat. :)

He's brighter to day .

Glad to hear that, I would only have suggested trying to syringe it into him, which I see you already had done.

My little dog who is quite old drinks for England (I put that down to a heart murmur) but often will go a day or two without eating, which I find very worrying.

He did enjoy it .
However we broke down .
Had to call wonder groom to bring trailer to rescue J .
Old boy was asleep in the living he was scooped up and I carried him and but him on the front seat of the landrover .
I left WG to wait for the recovery people ( she's more lorry literate than I am ) and set of home .
Old boy woke up and went landrover why am I in the land rover I sure we started out in the lorry .
He's been in great form all night .
He's fourteen now .
