MY Brother in law has an old dog who is unfortunately very stiff in her hind legs, was thinking of getting her some liniment to help loosen her joints up a bit. I used to use MR bone liniment on my horses and it was great but it may be a bit strong for Lady (dog).

Do you have any proved reccomendations i could use on her?

Our old girl (11 year old Lab, quite old for her age) has two capsules of cod liver oil a day, and that seems to help her a little bit!

I use Pernamax Equine for my horse, and they do a Canine Version. It's extract of green lipped mussels, available online from Maxavita. There is also a Canine version of Cortaflex you can get from good pet stores.

Vets tend to prescribe Rimadyl or Metacam for arthritis if it comes to that, but worth trying an OTC medication first.

I give my old girl human cod liver oil capsules and human glucosomine/chrondrotin tablets. Friends say they have seen a big difference in her since she's been on the glucosomine so I'd definately recommend that.
