So my beloved but professionally grumpy Arab has learnt a new trick.....

Not content with lunging at his stable neighbours with his mouth open like Jaws, he is now punctuating his displeasure with a deft hind leg Kung Fu kick

I was mildly amused when he started doing it this week - until this evening (feeding them again at 8pm, after my 12 hour shift, with no meal break

) when he did his Jet Li impression while I was in the stable .

Missed me by inches

I don't often shout or get mad (after 20+ years with him I have been suitably conditioned to accept I have no say in anything and no right to complain about anything
slap.gif
) but I did scream in shock and then followed up with my best Basil Faulty impression (minus the thrashing).

Sadly he just took it that I was tired and cranky and didn't appear to accept he was at fault at all

.

Why do we put up with it from the oldies?

would love to see a recent photo of the old man if you have one.

He can't be that bad look how much he loves you he came running over to you. If you were fully trained it would be you going to him, maybe that's why he is trying to discipline you?!?

Your account of his antics made me laugh, and laughing with a chest infection is no good as it makes me cough!

Hope he remembers his manners again quickly :)

I think he looks decidedly unlevel in that vid :o.

I'm not sensing the solidarity here. I'm sensing you are all siding with Obi

It's a bit dark, but this vid highlights the abuse poor Tank has to put up with every day .

(if you wonder what all the clicking is about - when he stands in the doorway I can't get out, so when I click it means to move back. He resents that too.)

Just had to fix the volume on my laptop....
Go on HHO before breakfast in the morning, still half a sleep, to be woken by.....

COME ON PUDDING!!!!
Full blast! Who has been messing with the sound on my laptop?!

BTW He looks all innocent in the video. How could you ever be angry with that? :)

I don't think that you did put up with it. You expressed your displeasure, it's just that he chose to ignore you. And to be honest, there's not a lot you can do really is there, because if you are limping/flat on your back/trying to regain your breath, then the moment has passed.

Or at least that might be the theory that Obi is working on. :)

lol, love the video - his expression of barely concealed scorn is classic :D

I loved that you called him pudding. Makes me feel better about shouting c'mon chicken across fields at poor Deano.

Oh don't worry, I call mine "sausage" as a pet name, and am quite happy to shout it across the field. He's been called that for quite some years now, well before any Findus debacle :D

I do use chicken sometimes, and sausage :o

'Pudding' started as a slightly derogatory term for The Tank, my lovely but slightly dim draft X.
When I got The Tank he was a feral 2 year old colt and it would take me an hour to lead him in from the field. People would pass us, ride, finish their jobs and leave before we'd made it to the yard :o. Other liveries would shout, "Come on pudding" at him to try and get him moving.....It stuck :o.

Love him! Love how his wee face perked up at the mention of dinner haha

My Arab can be a right wee s h i t with his back legs, he also comes trotting over when I call, they're sweethearts really, they know we know it though and that's the trouble!
