One of ours injured a check ligament in a foreleg 2 years ago. It was completely healed within 6 months but she's only just returned to competitive jumping for unrelated reasons. After she's jumped (that evening, say) the leg is always a little bit filled, although she's always sound.

Do you think this is due to increased blood flow and lack of elasticity in that area, or something more sinister? Has anyone else experienced anything similar after a ligament or tendon injury?

Apologies if this should be in veterinary but I wanted some quick responses and thought more of you would see it here!

Hi there - one of mine did a check ligament June last year. She's back in gentle work now, but after there is always a little bit of fill. I lean on caution and hose down for 10 mins afterwards and it seems to subside overnight in her stable. Vet told me that it is something that would probably always happen and to only be concerned if it became hot, increased in swelling or she went lame again. So know what you mean - it's a bit of a worry cause you're never quite sure.
