I dont have my towing license, however as this has a tow bar, if I were to get the license, could it reasonably tow a trailer with one 14.2hh in?

Thanks!!

I have a Rav4 (3 door) and I wouldn't tow with it as it is much too light I think. It is also rubbish for loading horse food in the back as only the bottom half of rear door opens (is a soft top). Otherwise is a good horse car, bumps around fields and down drops and very very reliable.

Is it a diesel of petrol? I have a 1999 petrol auto and wouldn't tow anything other than a hobby trailer with it. It is a fun car though, but not economical. If it wouldn't cost more than I'd save I'd change it for one which does more miles to the gallon.

Its a 96 petrol, I think 4 door and not soft top. I need to find out what engine size...

I do know someone who tows a 15hh around in theirs (albeit newer version!). Just interesting to find out if I do get it and do get my license to tow!

Thanks everyone!

The only way you will know is by finding out the maximum braked trailer towing wait for that particular vehicle. Ask your friend for a look at her handbook or go on whattowcar.com.

Bear in mind an IW 505 is 1170kg unladen and neds are about the 600kg mark. I am sure the older rav 4's only have a towing capacity of 1500kg, so the answer would be know, but best to check yourself.
