I have got a very old german saddle I used to use on my horse, it must be at least 20yrs old! Its been sat in my spare room for the past 3 yrs when I got a new one gathering dust and my mum has had enough.

I am going to an equine car boot sale soon- do you think its worth taking? I don't have a clue what it would be worth.. it was reflogged a few years prior to my new saddle and is still fairly sound!

What do you all think?

I'd find a tack sale rather than car boot. If it's a well known make you might get a better price from those in the know, say £200-250. If not you will get a bit less, say £150?

I would. If I had a limited budget I would always choose an old good quality leather over a lower quality one that's only a few years old. And depending on its condition, you may be suprised at what its worth. I have an ancient jefferies, which whilst looked after has had heavy use. Out of interest I asked a saddler what she'd give for it, expecting £100 max, she said £350 & I've since seen similar for more in local tackshops second hand.

Its not a make I've ever heard of or that I can find any information on! I'll have a look later tonight..

Thanks everyone! :) I will clean it up and give it a go..

Under the saddle flap it says
"Pandur
Sattlerei beim Kloster Schonthal
Made in Germany"

Has anyone ever heard of this make? can't find much info on it...
