Not sure if this is best place to post this, or if I will get my wrists slapped for posting it at all. I have an old (25 years plus) Barnsby GP saddle. Its a bit tatty but as far as I can tell sound. I have kept it for purely sentimental reasons as I had it new when I had my 14hh pony as a teenager. Sadly he died many years ago. I have eventually decided its taking up space and needs to go. It obviously worthless but seems a shame to just throw it out. I thought of RDA but understand they don't take saddles this old. Does anyone know of any charity or similar who could use it?

i wouldnt get rid, its an heirloom!!! seriously, we have one similar, no idea what make, but its been passed down from 4 generations, and is at least 45 years old. its a pony saddle, so is no longer used, but we wouldnt get rid of it!

Thats no help at all LOL. That is why I have kept it for so long but really short of space. And would rather it was being used than stuffed in a shed here. Will give the ILPH a call. Never thought of them which is daft cos I used to have an ILPH pony. If they are interested the field officer could pick it up as he knows where I am, cos I expect it would cost a fortune to post. Its bad enough we keep all our ponies, so think I need to be a bit tough with the saddle. Tho if I can't find someone to use it don't think I will just throw it out.
