Old style greenguard muzzle

Have just bought an old style gg muzzle and it is flat at the back part (by the chin). Is this normal or should I heat it to bend it up?

Why would you want to bend it?! If it's sold like that I'd expect to have to use it like that!

Because it's not like the old one I had a number of years ago and it looks like the pony would be able to eat out the back of it.

The first one I had was like this, the second one is more like a square box and I think is better as with the old one my mare could work her way to the side of it and eat loads I would be careful as I think you could end up and split it if you try that.

Thanks for that..... didn't realise when I bought it (2nd hand) that they were different
I'm guessing they must work for some though as I used to have one for a laminitic Sect A and that worked a treat. I just don't remember it being flat at the chin end though 😕
