Hi,

Just wondering where to take a horse for a saddle fitting - he's stupidly high withered so is going to be hard to fit!

I was thinking of booking an appointment with either of the above and just boxing him down and trying out the saddle on site.

Anyone done this? I'm based in Banstead so anywhere nearer than Frogpool would be a bonus!

Not that i know any anymore but surely a saddler would come out to you with a selection of saddles for you to try??? I know when I was trying to get Zak one keith Luxford (sadly no longer in teddington, or anywhere I dont think), came out with a van full so I could ride in them all!!

Good luck finding one, actually shame i sold my 2 in the end as Zak had daftly high withers too!!

Yeah he's so hard to fit and I need one asap so easier to just take him! Most of the saddlers have a 6 week waiting list for weekend fitting!

Oh no gutted! And he was prob similar build to Zak too!

The shop at Oldencraig is run by frogpool so I would imagine it would be the people form Frogpool that would do the saddle fitting from either place

ah that's makes it easier! Great - I'll try and get him booked in x

Zoobie is right, the shop at Oldencraig is run purely by Oldencraig and has been for a while, frogpool has nothing to do with it anymore. Personally I would go to oldencraig as there saddler is superb and really really nice and seems more honest than Frogpools are now (I don't know about Kirsty, she was probably there before I got my saddle). I would call the shop at oldencraig and ask them about it. Hope this helps.

If you're in Banstead, ask about the lady who does private fittings, she lives in Tadworth near the vets, and is brilliant.

I moved away about 5 years ago and can't remember her name now, but I would't have used anyone else while I was down there (and she'll pop out to you in the evening)

jane davies - JD saddles

should be in the phone book on High Street Tadworth

she used to ride racehorses so will know your sort of problem
