Like title basically.

Is there any significant difference of fit between an older model of a K2 legend and a K2 jump on the adjusta tree (if you concider both trees being the standard version)?

Had an new K2 jump adjusta fitted on my four year old recently but I'm reluctant to buy a spanking new expensive saddle for a baby horse who's probably going to change shape in the near foreseeable future and having found a K2 legend from 2012, barely used with a much more humane price tag I would rather buy that saddle instead if they fit similarly ?

Read my thread re saddle fit ?‍♀️ It may save you money in the long run. My horse is 9 and I chose the non adjusta to save a bit of money. Looking like that was a big mistake!

But the adjusta tree only changes the gullet width, right? So either way I'm screwed if the horse changes his topline in any other way than width behind his shoulders. That's the reason I bought a Bates for him thinking they were sooooo easy to tweak but I can't get the darn thing to fit him.

So, the question still stands- does an older non-adjusta K2 legend jump fit the same or similiar as a newer K2 legend jump adjusta if you concider both on a standard (ie non tb, flat or hoop tree) and both MW in width?

Apparently so, well according to my saddler.
I was going to get the adjusta but she had an older K2 for half the price which she said was the same fit. My horse has widened.

Thanks! Then I probably will go ahead and buy the older version ?

I've read your saddle thread, I really can relate how frustrated you must feel about the situation ?

I can't answer specifically but yes, the adjusta part is just the width at the front, similar to the changeable headplate in the Bates. The Bates, if Cair, then takes shims between saddle and tree, the Albion will be flock, so both have a similar element of adjustability. I find that yes a change of topline is likely to need a different shaped tree, and if a horse changes two width fittings it's more likely than not to need a new tree shape ie saddle too.

Bates unfortunately doesn't work for us because of his broad wither base. It pinches the sides no matter which gullet bar I put in and slides to the side. Albion and a couple of other brands we tried work because they have a more open head to accomodate his small, but wide wither (at least that is how my saddle fitter explained it to me ?)
