shes started coughing in the last few days
its a really deep, chesty sounding cough, as if shes got fluidly gunk on her lungs.
shes still eating fine and bright and alert, no temp, cantered up the field fine yesterday.
does anyone recomend anything to help clear it?
her hay is soaked and feed is fed wet anyway...and shes out 24/7

Unfortunately, a cough like that could and I say could not necessarily is could be heart failure. It could also be an irritant in her airways or a plain cold. My horse gets something similar every spring which worries me.

Do not panic!!!

She how she gets on and try NAF respirator - worked for my boy. If not any better in a week, call a vet.

I tend to be a mother hen and err on the side of caution.

It is probably just an irritant or pollen or something.

get your self equmins cough power booster it is fantastic and clear her out it is about EIGHT POUNDS A Bottle mine loved it coz it has got honey in it aswell!

the only thing thats different in her routine is shes getting abit more grass and its quite long.shes been grazed on long grass before with no issues though..?
its gone to a dry cough now.she still seems very well in herself and full of beans.
will try respirator as she cant have honey as shes lamanitic!
