I have an older Mare (around 12) who used to be headcollar broken but has not had one on for some time. She has been given to me and in desperate need of a hoof trim so it's a must I can get a head collar on her! (She fine with her hooves being picked up) shes fine with touch just runs a mile of she sees any ropes or collars heading her way! wanting any tips for making this as quick and panic free for the mare as possible TIA X

If she's good to be handled generally, for now can you herd her gently into a coral or stable for the farrier so her feet can be seen to, then work on the headcollar issue thereafter when there's not so much time pressure?
I know my farrier used to do the green yarded rescues loose in a stable.
And possibly whilst you have her stabled that might help with getting a headcollar on her? If you use a leather or field safe one it could be left on safely with some rope dangling from it which should help with catching her again in the future
