Just wondering if anyone is going to the Oliver Townend Clinic at Equi Vivre Retraining Racehorses yard on 23rd or 24th Nov? I have just bought an ex-racer and can't wait to take part although we're in a jumping session and he's not done much jumping yet! Could be interesting :)
Anyone done a clinic with Oliver before? Just wondering what to expect!
 
I should have done one a few years ago, but horse was out of action. I went to watch anyway. He was a good instructor, very good with people, and quite entertaining.
 
I watched a demo a few years back with Oliver and Geoff billington, was fantastic and very entertaining!

I found he made a lot of sense when explaining his methods/ teachings and would deffo go to see him again!
 
I very nearly put my name down for this clinic but realised that I'd embarrass myself too much for what it's worth. I rarely school my horse (soon to change!) so Oliver would have his work cut out! Hope you have a fab time!
 
You should, he was very good with novices when I watched his clinics. I believe that when he was a working pupil he had to teach in the riding school in return for his own tuition, so has a lot of teaching hours under his belt.

And his then employer was/is the most down to earth man with a real talent for getting the best out of hopeless cases (me) on their rather wonderful horses.

OP, you should go, you'll have a fab time.
 
I had weekly lessons with Oli before he hit the big time, he was an irritating twerp as a person (but he was only young), but an excellent instructor, learnt a lot from him.
 
I did a jump clinic on my nutty TB with him, had a great time and he gave me some handy tips for keeping a lid on him.

I would definitely recommend it, we had such a good time :)
 
Thanks everyone, really looking forward to it now :-) there's another one on 21st and 22nd Dec at same place so if it goes well I may treat myself to that as well ;-)
