Oliver Townend injured at Powderham

"Oliver Townend was injured this weekend at Powderham Castle.

Riding Tribal Leader in open intermediate section E, Oliver suffered a suspected broken collar-bone when Tribal Leader fell on the cross country. Forced to cancel his next two weeks of competitions, Oliver's preparation for Badminton Horse Trials is once again in disarray."

I wonder if he'll have to withdraw from Badminton??

I was riding after 2 weeks and I broke my collar bone quite badly, I had laser treatment etc. Im pretty sure aslong as it isnt too bad he will be at badders

i suppose it comes down to whether fracture or break!?!? never broken mine so not a clue! can't say I would want to be going round badders with a newly broken collar bone though not that I ever would anyway LOL

Depends if it's broken all the way through or not - it says suspected so I imagine it would only be a small fracture so it should heal in time.

well as he had an accident at a BD event he will have to be passed fit to ride again.

It's one thing just riding again, but to ride around badminton? If it were my horse I wouldn't want to risk it.

OMW i hope he hasn't he's like ma fav rider, he's supposed to be doin chatsworth in a couple of weeks and i live just up the road from it! OMW hope he;s ok!

but that might be because he had too many entered (your allowed the maximum 2 - he had 4)
we'll have to wait and see wether any more are withdrawn
