Funny how a newly registered person decides to pick a fight as their first post....... Bet you are a troll.
Anyway for the record, what an unnesscerary post in the first place. Apart from anything else there was a bloody great headline in the rolling headlines at the top of the page. its not like the poster is a newbie who hasnt been on here before. we are not thick you know. and there ahd already been several other threads discussing burghley, like now, on various parts of the forum.

Seems rather unnecessary to react in such a rude and unpleasant way just because one person posts something that you already knew and someone else sticks up for them. I am sure you have frequently stated fact that is available elsewhere, in fact I know you have, why is that any different?

it was a rude response though, pointing it out is one thing, but the tone was indeed unnecessary. I did not realise people needed to ask you first what was ok to post and what was not.....

no and perhaps none of you santimonious sorts who are, of course, perfect and above reproach noticed the pair of smilies in the original response. hence why when our little troll responded as they did I figured they were just picking a fight and clearly so are you lot. I suggest if you dont like the things i say, put me on UI or shut up, i dont need to ask your permission either, particularly when all of you are picking up the wrong end of the stick as usual.
in fact the only person who didnt, it seems, was the original poster, and FYI if you the person concerned had made some comment about Oli leading instead of just copying the header from the top of the page, i wouldnt have thought they were taking the piss out of us two posts lower all discussing Piggy etc and also on CR, which is what i did think, and was quite amused, hence the smilies.

Don't think anyone is picking a fight except you. Smileys or no, there is no need to attack people in that way. The original post was perfectly harmless and I think those that have responded just don't like people being put down for no reason.

We could put you on UI it's true, if I could be bothered to use the finger power to do so, but you also could just ignore posts that you deem as beneath you, couldn't you

I have been visiting this forum for some time now, but don't often feel the need to post, hence my low status (check my date of reg) - thought I'd best clear this up at the start so I'm not accused of being a troll!
The original poster would be justified in feeling rather aggrieved at Lucretia's response. OP was quite correct, there was no other thread on Latest News.
I wouldn't have thought of looking in CR, as I never go in there - the few times I have looked in, it's appeared to be made up of people's personal affiliated competition experiences and queries, and as I don't compete above low level local/RC, it's not of interest to me. And as there was quite a bit here in LN for the Europeans, it is not unreasonable to want to talk about Burghley here too.
Generally, I've found Lucretia's posts quite informative, with more of an insider's view on things, and I was quite shocked by that unnecessary response. Even if it was "softened" by a couple of smileys. Surely just something along the lines of "Have a look in CR, it's already on there" would have got the message across in a much friendlier manner without belittling the OP?
