Many will say just imported and "price will double if I get on the horse's back if not sold in a week".
I've always thought she was a bit dodgy, I will admit.

Makes you wonder if she's not just making sure the rest of her 'prospects' are snapped by people who see a name and think that the horse must be great.
We found Oliver Townend a really nice chap. Yes it is always good for business to sell to people who are very well known and even better when they tell you they will come and buy again.
On that particular horse we had hundreds of phone calls including someone that Lucinda Green gave our number to.
As for the way I sell. I price all the horses cheaply for one week only. If they don't sell then I start working them myself and sell via horse and hound.
Most of our horses go to competition homes. We have sold quite a few to professional riders and numerous horses have gone on to go Grade A.
I advertise cheaply when they first come in earning a quick bit of feed money for the rest of the horses. Its what I do for a living and never hide the fact.
The horse Oliver had, we sold at less than we had been offered by various people over the phone as like you have all said good for business!
Did I mention cruelty and neglect?! Nope!! I have my own opinions of people, obviously everyone has their own opinions and view points, you are obviously a fan of Ollie, thats great, and I have no intention of trying to turn anyone. Its like everything, everyone has their own ideas of how things should be done and dealt with and base their opinion on what they know.
No its the insinuation that you made and you mentioned a few 'coughs' and 'shames' about where the horse has gone. But no you didnt actually say neglect or cruelty - apols
You are fully entitled to your opinion - 100 % agree there
I just really hate it when forums are used to almost slate people - BUT at the end of the day you and severnmiles obviously know him so thats fair enough and I cant argue with that.
But seriously - I am not a fan of Oli T - cant be arsed
Lol!! No I appreciate that, and I agree, slating of people is done too often.
I apologise if I was offensive, but actually I never actually made any mention to Oli, the shame comment could have been regarding it is a nice horse and has gone to a pro instead of someone with a small price range who would love to have the oppurtunity to pick up a talented young horse ( and from that point I do think it is a shame
)
Yes I was insinuating, but have no intention of slagging off Oli or anyone else in a public forum

KatB - you have explained yourself well - and I can see where you are coming from now.
And I agree - that its a shame that it got snapped up in the way it did.
Cant be arsed with the fan thing although - I saw the clinic with Lucinda Green on horse and country TV the other day - bloody love her - what a top hat ledgend straight talker!! I wish there were more old school types like her about - she gave a great lesson!!!
Twisting this away from OT, I agree - Lucinda is a super trainer, we need far more like her. Still laughing over her comments (in H&H I think) about 'modern tack trends', after the that I hid the stud girth!!
H&C TV should be a brilliant vehicle for such trainers, whe's so much more articulate and frankly, honest, than many of the popular trainers out there now.
Surely a horse thats so good will of cost the dealer more then £1750...
As the saying goes 'No such thing as a free lunch' I have been tempted by these impressive cheap horses too... However there never quite what they seem to say the least. Apart from its lovely pedigree, he doesn't impress me anyway, His jump doesn't do it for me. Credit to the seller, she does sell the horse. All the best to Oliver Townend - And hope it drums up business for seller.
