I posted on here a few months back about Ollie, my Irish Sport Horse by King of Diamonds out of a Clover Hill mare. Anyway, I prefer dressage and he is definately more of a showjumper/eventer, so I was looking for a talented young rider to take him on and compete.
Yesterday he went to his new home with a young girl called Leanne, who has done lots of stuff on ponies, PC teams and BSJA etc. She rides her mum's horse, and had a horse of her own, but neither had the scope or ability that matched hers, and so she came and had a sit on Ollie. She rode him a couple of times a few months ago, and then at the weekend I gave her a call and she came over and rode him again. She took him to her yard yesterday, where he has settled straight in like it has always been home. Yesterday evening she walked him around the indoor school to get him used to everything, and today she popped him over a little jump. They have a full set of BSJA jumps, fillers etc, and she put up a small course and jumped him round, completely under control (he can be a bit strong). They have just clicked completely.
She has a few competitions lined up over the next few weeks, just small ones, nothing major, and then they will go on an affiliate him. I am just so happy that he has ended up with such a devoted and talented little rider - it will certainly be a pair to watch in the future - London 2012, here they come!
