I’ve owned Ollie for 10 years today. I got him as a 4yo from Clodagh on here. He’s never been sick or sorry, but for the last 5 years or so, has been a lawn mower. I’ve just never enjoyed riding him. He’s not my Dolly. Would never sell him, but back in Feb, a young friend asked me if I knew of any horses for loan as her boy needs the quieter life. I said Ollie will need bringing back into work, but you’re willing to try him.

She spent a few weeks working with him at mine, then in March he moved to her yard. Been hacking, lessons etc, and she loves him.

Today they went to their first show, more for experience than anything. He came 3rd in the assisted 40cm jumping (not sure how many in it), and then, to top it off, came 3rd in a class of 9 in the showing show, and…has qualified for Arena UK. Am not ashamed to admit I cried.

I am so proud of them both.

For a funnily put together thing, he was a star.

I missed this thread at the time. Ollie is possibly the luckiest pony in the world. I bought him from some random woman as I wanted a companion for my foal. He was so ugly but my favourite colour. ?.

Not ugly now, young Ol. Although I agree with ycbm, he never read the memo about their girths expanding as they grow ?
