Hello all! Am heading to Olympia on Saturday and I don't want to get shafted for expensive food at the place this year. Can you take small, picnic style snacks in with you through security checks? I remember you can't eat or drink in your arena seats but you could munch on the outer bits.

Thank you in advance x

Well we've always brought food with us without any problems - there hasn't been any security checks. And for the last few years we have eaten in our seats too - as have other people around us who have brought pies and things back from the food stalls - openly past the stewards - I'm not aware of any rule that says you can't.

Obviously though you wouldn't make a lot of noise or eat messy things - but as long as you're considerate about it I don't see a problem.

Think you can take food in with you, but last year when we tried to take hot drinks in to sit down they would'nt let us we had to finish it before we sat down.

I had the same problem, so stuck the pizza in my bag and went through.......then ate in my seat, the same as many around me.;)

There were no checks as we walked in for food and drink, so fill up as the food is a bit pricey - I was starving and bought a muffin for the way home - £2.75! It was yummy though.

There are lots of signs as you go up to your seats saying no food and drink in the seating area so lots of people were having to gulp down hot coffee before going in. Didn't see anyone eating in our seats (it was dressage night though so obviously a better class of spectator :)) but lots had snacks and bottles of water.

Oooh thank you very much for the replies everyone!! This is great. I can't remember much from going last year but wanted to check before sausage roll production gets underway tonight!!! Yippeee! VERY excited today!

We went yesterday. Thought it was as good as ever. No problem with taking food in or eating in your seats.
Enjoy both the show and your food!
