Just asking cos we were cringing a bit when watching on Thursday afternoon performance, it was....well...extreme.
They were bigger horses than I expected and they were being driven through some very tight turns and corners at a fair speed, the faster the better - obviously they had to leave the balls on top of the cones.
Our fears were rather confirmed when the Australian winner had one of his lead horses hopping lame on leaving the course.
They were very well booted up and very athletic, very fit horses, but I suppose the stresses and strains on their limbs and jonts must be - well extreme

I assume you mean Boyd Excell? I watched the warm up to this at Merrist Wood, he had 2 teams there, his more experienced team is composed of mainly teenaged, some 20 something horses so I think their tendons do better than most other competitive horses.

The team is 2X 19YOs and 2X 22YOs- don't know many other sports you can expect a horse to be a world winning standards at that age :) They do have to pass a trot up before each event too.
