Olympia

Sorry, but it was very clearly lame as others have said too.
It's age has nothing to do with it. A lame horse should not have been in a display. Especially one in which it was made to lay down and have someone stand on it.

I quite agree that it didn't look comfortable and commented on it when I first saw it on Friday- I often think 'free working' horses look pretty pissed. I think you'll have more luck changing your wording though as they're unlikely to take the word of someone who hasn't examined the horse above those that have, qualified or not. Did you see much of the warm up? I only had normal tickets the days I was there so didn't get to see it trot much tbh!

I was there on Tuesday and he was fine I think. He did go a bit rogue though and had a massive hooley around the arena.

I did think the grey was sore behind though, it really struggled to back up.

I loved the idea of the performance. Dogs and horses together! I'd love to have my dog and horses working together.
I didn't see the lameness (but I'm pants at spotting it) but I did feel it was lacking something. I adored the Lusitanos and the carriage driving at the start :O Wow, was that good!

Have to say this display made me a bit uncomfortable, we were there on Wednesday night and my non horsey boyfriend also didn't enjoy it. On the other hand, we both loved the Pride of Portugal!

I really didn't like this display either and agree with others in that it was uncomfortable watching. To the extent that I left my seat before he'd finished. The horses looked shut down and miserable, and I remember thinking the same of Jean-Francois Pignon last year.

If these 'displays' were under a circus big top, I think people would be calling it animal exploitation and unnatural but because it's at Olympia, that seems to make it ok.....
