Olympic Dressage Team

dressage teams only have 3 members now for the olympics. I believe it was something to do with only 3 scores counting and only 3 riders per nation being able to progress to the special and kur, and finally to allow for more teams to compete as obviously at what 10+ minutes per rider cutting out one per team saves a lot of team allowing extra nations to compete!

Extraordinary why they have left out Anna & Leibling and put i Jane Gregory. Particularly after the World Cup qualifier win. Anna has proven time and time again to go out and produce the goods at top level when it matters. Maybe the selectors know something that is not public knowledge? Shame, I for one am very dissapointed for her.

Jane Gregory is a very experienced rider having ridden in the Olympics before as Jane Bredin on Cupido, she has also had exceptionally good scores recently.

World Cup qualifiers do not really count as the team is decided on Grand Prix scores and Jane's have been better than Anna's on recent form.

Quite. I don't think the comment "Extraordinary why they have left out Anna & Leibling and put i Jane Gregory" was particularly nice either. Don't pick on Jane, she too has worked very hard and has earnt her spot; it's just a shame for Anna that she was the one left out. You can't please everyone though, and I think we have a very strong team even if it does not include Anna (or Carl).

IF you had bothered to read my post correctly I was NOT saying anything against Jane Gregory (Nee Bredin blah de blah de blah). I simply stated the fact that ANNA has proven herself when the chips are down and has that extra bit of Pizazz / Charisma / call it what you will. Jane Gregory / Bredin has put in some nice dependable performances of late no denying that, never said she did not. And don't be so patronising in your postings - some of us do remember Jane Gregory / Bredin /Cupido - we were there.

Liebling hasnt been on top form recently, from what I can pick up in the media anyway. Jane Gregory's horse has.

I'm sure the selectors, in consultation with the trainers, know which horses are in tip top form and ready to do their best.
