Olympic dressage - why is Lottie Fry taking two horses?

Just curious - I noticed Lottie Fry has two horses in quarantine ready to go to Tokyo; her selected horse Everdale but also Dark Legend.

I thought that Gareth was the travelling reserve? Does anyone know why she’s taking both horses?

Fab rider, fab team - either way really looking forward to seeing them all perform out there!

All of the shortlisted horses will be in quarantine because until the 4 are on the plane they may need the others- I think Dark Legend is a direct reserve for Everdale so if Everdale isn’t fit for whatever reason he will be going.
