Olympic Tickets

Absolutely gutted, I live less than 5 mins from the park so possibly went a little overboard in the selection of equestrian tickets and have been waiting for the Olympics with eager excitement! But no, I get nothing, nada, not a tiny little thing :( Nothing for my OH either. I just can't believe that this is it for the selection process, it just seems like there are loads of people with no tickets at all!!!!

don't worry, we only got the e-mail yesterday for OH to ring and change his bank details as he had already had a flag put on his account for this very purpose so tickets are still being issued.

I hope so - I checked my bank account on pretty much an hourly basis today!

Loved the link - am still laughing at the 'Really Cross Country'. Almost made up for no tickets. Thank you!

It was a joint effort of people on here! I just put it together.

I still cant quite understand why I had so many offers for the role of Chef de Vino...:D

Just checked my bank account and :D:D:D looks like I have got tickets for XC. Only applied for those because couldt afford to do more. Just says tickets london and for the right amount. Nearly dropped the lap top and kids giving me funny looks:D But cant believe my luck. Shame so many people are missing out though.

We got the 2 x team showjumping tickets and the 3 x fencing tickets for OH we wanted, so very pleased! Just got to find somewhere to stay now....

Well in the last hour of the day, they took some cash. Hurrah! Applied for x-country, eventing showjumping, 2 different days of normal show jumping and one day of dressage. I got the x-country! Disappointed not to have got more, but well chuffed that I'm going to see the x-country :)

Apparently some of the jumps are already out in the park so will be doing a wander round the course soon!!!

I'm really disappointed. We are responsible, ordinary people and we bid in good faith and within our means. We got nothing. I've just discovered what an utterly unfair system they're using: The super rich, massive corporates, and dodgy gamblers and dealers looking to capitalise on selling off large numbers of tickets at a huge profit (you can sell them on - tickets are not named) who bid for £10s of thousands of pounds worth, all won about a third of their choices, so now have huge numbers of tickets. Ordinary, hard working people who only bid within their means for one or two events, like us, were highly unlikely to win anything at all.

Obviously some of you, who bid in a similar way as I did have won tickets, and you are very lucky, but you are in the minority.

Hardly in the Olympic spirit is it? :( :(

For everyone who didn't get tickets i'm wondering how much equestrian tv coverage we'll get given we're so far down the list of interest and with so many other sports to cover.

Anyone heard or seen anything.

Well I've checked account again, money is still there :( only applied for SJ tickets. I'm confused though...does that mean we defo not get tickets, or are some still going out upto 10th June? Have read that 60% will be allocated by 31st may the rest by 10th June, but then read elsewhere that's it - done?!!

As there will be people, maybe on here, with a spare ticket but no accommodation near London .... maybe you should make a friend!!!

Anyone with a spare ticket and needing london accomodation i'm willing to do a swap!!! My house is 30 seconds from main train straight to town centre!

Applied for £1300 had £116 taken. Think that means no equestrian, no swimming and no althletics.

Am gutted no equestrian esp the eventing. I applied for every day. I thought they had said the dressage and SJ was undersubscribed?? Maybe cos I went for cheap tickets?

Ah well! Am just pleased to have something as so many people seem to have missed out completely.

I applied for two tickets for the XC and the 3DE SJ (spread over price brackets) but have got nothing. I am pretty fed up about it. I wonder if the Olympic committee will ever publish the over-subscription ratios for some of the popular sports. They keep on about 1m people applying for 20,000 tickets for the men's 100m final....so how many people applied for how many tickets for XC?

Think I heard on the news that 20 million people applied for 6 million tickets that cover the entire sports.
If this is the case, then I feel very lucky to have got the 2 XC tickets I applied for. I am so pleased, not because I have what I wanted, but because I saw my old fart mummy doing a celebratory dance!! THAT, was worth a ticket!! lol

Nothing. Zippo debited. I applied for athletics, gymnastics and SJ and looks like I've got nothing at all. Gutted!

Nothing for me either (I applied for XC).
I also would like to see a breakdown of applications - showing exactly which events were oversubscribed.

I know the unlucky ones get first dibs at what is left, but I can't imagine there will be anything there that takes my fancy.

I am pinning my hopes on paradressage ... I will be spitting chips if I miss out on those too!!

I didn't get my money taken till later this afternoon...
As of this morning I'd officially accepted i wasn't going, so don't give up hope just yet.
3x Band A tickets to the Individual Dressage Finals - made my day!

My friend & I applied for tickets for 3 day eventing which I presummed would be classed as one event. Obviously not, I had £42 taken from my bank account which we guess is for one day of the dressage, but we won't know until 24th June. It's a total fiasco.

I applied for pairs of tickets to the 4 days eventing and the Kur, have had £196 taken out of my account so guessing I got the XC and 1 day of event dressage?

I applied for 2 tickets for the XC, got a message on Sunday to say that insufficient funds and that I was to make sure funds in there by 2nd June midday at the latest or I would not get tickets or contacted again, money was in the the very next day (payday) but nothing taken as yet and its past 2nd June 2011...........panicking now..............:-(

I'm one of the lucky ones. Got tickets for XC day for myself and OH. Missed out on the dressage though! Money was taken from my account overnight on 31st/1st. Didn't apply for much, as didn't dare take the gamble with my very limited funds.

I applied for the cheapest tickets for Xc, Event SJ, Team SJ final and 1st round of SJ. Did think about upping the price range but if I'd got all of the wouldn't have been able to afford it. As it is, got £26 taken from account so looks like just got the first SJ event. Really pleased about that but yes, how many are going to be profiteering from selling on the loads of tickets they've acquired?

I got 2! :D

I applied for XC, eventing SJ, SJ team final and SJ individual final.

I got one set of tickets and the prices match one of the finals - so I'll be seeing GB bringing home a medal :D:D

Can anyone work out what I got as I have no idea. We applied for all the eventing stuff x 2 and have had £386 taken out. I'm really hoping for xc tickets most but it has been a right hassle getting anything sorted due to OH changing his bank card half way through process so I shall be happy with whatever.
