If this weather continues is it possible that the ground at Greenwich would be too bad for the xc to run?

Looking at the state of the moors & our fields it made me wonder - is there an alternative should this be the case?

Me neither Feathered but it's quite scary as there's only a few weeks to go and where we are the ground is saturated.

There must be a contingency plan so I'd be interested to hear what it is.

Hope not, got tickets to the xc, booked time off work & rail tickets. At least south east had less rain than most of the country. Fingers crossed!

my yard is about 5 miles from Greenwich and we are still on winter turnout because of the state of the ground and today they've shut our fields because of all the rain, so it doesn't bode well for the XC course! I do think my yard are overly paranoid (hence one of the reasons I'm moving) but still, I think the ground is going to be very difficult.

We're 8 miles from Greenwich and our fields are fine (I rent 4 acres) It has been raining on and off here - but no huge downpours like in some areas.

Greenwich park is very hilly so I imagine it would drain well.

I wonder if they do have a contingency plan in the event of none stop rain however ..

lucky you :D fingers crossed it's just our fields that are rubbish ;)

I've been told more than once that the weather is going to stay pretty much as it is until September (don't ask me how anyone knows that!) so it's possible the ground will be very wet. That won't be ideal - especially for a twisty course so it must be giving the ground team a few sleepless nights.

I've looked online for a contingency plan but I can't find anything so perhaps someone knowledgeable will be able to shed some light on it for us.
