OMFG - he has pulled out the greyhound???!!!!

Personally it’s less to do with how the dog is built and more to do with the fact I hate the underweight and permanently miserable/terrified look that most grey hounds sport

I know, it's awful.... he is so underweight in that picture.... not..... anyone would think he had just come out of training that day :p

CG and BS, really, really uncalled for, spiteful and hurtful remarks. Absolutely no need for it.

Just downright nasty.
It’s clear to me some folks are happy dishing it out but resort to insults when challenged. Don’t slag someone’s else’s dog when comparing it to your own as the perfect embodiment.

Oh dear.... let me explain more clearly, in simple words.... I did not say at any point that my greyhound was a perfect embodiment of the breed, I simply inferred that he was more representative of the breed than the strange looking show types you see at Crufts. Which I think pretty much everyone who has commented on the thread agreed with.

I really don't understand why you consistently comment on my threads when you appear to dislike me so much, but that is the joy of a forum :)

It is indeed, Lev. 🙂I am unaware of ‘consistently’ commenting on your threads, but if you say so, it must be fact - I must get a life.....

Agree that those show greyhounds look rather odd. The angle of the back legs and the tail totally pinned underneath, it can't be good for the back joints along with the extra weight they carry compared to a fit dog.
I do think this years looks slightly better than last years though. But no match for Hoover!

A lot of the show dogs are very different to our pet/working dogs, I find the whole showing world to be very odd. I have collies and non of mine bear much resemblance to the show collies, I think it’s all a bit sad. There is A world of difference between the 2 greyhounds but only one of them was able to race which says all you need to know really. At least the show greyhound can breathe and move which is an improvement on some of the dogs we saw at crufts.
