Had a phone call about half an hour ago saying, sombody was driving a couple of cars around our field . drove up there to find the gate off its hinges and tire markes all over. Horses seem OK but i am fuming and shaking in anger. just very glad they werent hurt or had got out. Not much point phoning the police tonight but might have a word tomorrow. WHy arrent W@*^£$ like this ever caught red handed.

I'd be calling the police tonight tbh - vandalism and trespass.

Glad the horses are ok. Whoever phoned you might be able to give a description of the car to the police.
 
OMG, so glad the horses are ok. That must've given you quite a scare! I'm not surprised you're furious!

I definitely think you should tell the police, someone else might have reported it too and they may start to take action, that'll put your mind at ease slightly
 
Friend who phoned me hurd the cars but by the time they got out there they weregoing he thought one was a small car and other was a pickup/4x4 no description or plates unfortunatly, gate was padlocked we lock everything, they took it off et the hinges. Will talk to police in morning . Sorry..... AR$h*!£$!!!!!!!

Yes, definitely. Just incase the morons think of coming back. Hope someone saw something that will help identify the culprits. Bl**dy shameful, removing a gate from a field with animals in it. It beggars belief how ignorant some human beings are. Really glad your horses are okay, though. Poor you.
 
I really worry about the gates at our yard as we closed it the other day and you've got to lift it slightly to get the catch to go in, and OH pulled it almost fully off the hinges, with no effort at all! If someone wanted to get in all they'd have to do would be lift the gate up and straight off. Think I'll mention it to YO asap.
 
Should have phoned the police straight away to get it reported, they may have spotted a car with a lot of mud on it.
Mind, I suppose even if they catch them they will only get a pittance of a sentence.

this is just alwful. i cant imagine why people would even bother to do things like that. if you turn the top bolt upside down, but also weld the nuts to the bolts so they cant be removed
