I imagine that the format will be as you say above, but they might want to see some lateral work/counter canter, depending on what level the horse is currently working. I think they will go out of their way for it not to be overly stressful or too formal, but there will be some very high powered people riding (as well as judging). You could easily be the only amateur there.

Fab experience, no matter what happens.

Do you think i should plait? And wear my white stuff?

[/ QUOTE ]

Def. plait. I imagine show clothes will be worn, as it is the easiest way to ensure everyone is dressed the same. Or just ring up and ask what to wear!

Wow!!!! I think the list of judges speaks volumes for the quality and talent of the horses being judged and Archie is by no means an exception!!!

Huge congratulations to you - I always maintained you had a star on your hands!!! Would love to come and watch but thats my second week back at uni and chances are I'll have lectures that day - make sure your mum takes a camera!!!

Hey! CONGRATULATIONS!

You should be soo proud and excited
I would say plait, wear white breeches but not show jacket it's not as formal as that. It's quite a relaxed atmosphere.
The horses are split into groups by their age.
They are not bothered if you make mistakes (i assume you will be in the 6yo section - *i think your horse is 6, memory not good* ? lol - they will want to see more that the basics are really solid - i.e. 6yos show a good degree of collection in transitions) and first you warm up by yourself whilst they watch - they want to see long and low/stretching/happy athlete.
Sometimes they might not ride any, sometimes they both might ride (last time i think carl only rode 1 horse - soul sister i think?!? - out of all the 4yos (our section- none of them! ha), 5yo section which she was in! lol.
After you have warmed up, they will tell you what they want you to do!
Good luck with it, seriously, it's a really great experience, and it is an achievement in itself to get the invite!
Well done again!
