I cannot believe how the time has flown over the past couple of months... and I cannot believe Hannah's foal is nearly due. I don't feel prepared at all, I'm going to have to start swatting up on my books!

Panic is really starting to set in now, it is becoming more and more real and Hannah becoming fatter and fatter.

Any last minute advice???

Yes! Keep breathing and get plenty of sleep!

Youve still got ages yet, she probably hasn't even started to bag up. Relax and enjoy the last few moments of peace!

Make sure you have your foaling things ready like purple spray (for the navel), rubber gloves, vet's phone number, nearest stud's phone number (in case you need colostrum), tail bandage, a flask, a good book and a fresh supply of ciggies (if youre a smoker!

).

About a week before she is due, start leaving her stable light on at night so that you don't have to keep turning it on to check her and disturbing her.

The time will come soon enough don't you worry!

Good luck! xxxxx

Wow that HAS flown!

Best of luck, next month will defo fly I tell you, but is all so worth it...don't worry you will be fine!!

*Stamps feet* And I'm not gonna be around to see the baby pics!!! Not fair!!

Has come round incredibley quickly!!

I'm not gonna have internet access from next Weds, as I'm moving and I'm a skin flint and won't pay the line rental for a phone cable! I won't have a TV either - too tight to pay a TV licence, for shite TV!!

OMG I canNOT believe it, its flown by!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see how he/she looks like! Argh, i know im buying 2 books i feel like i don't know a thing! But i've got aggggges to wait.

I take it you'll be living in town then?

Not a bad place to live Newmarket, apart from trying to get across town on race days...you will have to learn the back roads although to your new place of work won't be easy to miss the traffic!!

Good luck with the new job and hope the move up here goes well

Actually found a place outside of NM, but yes you're right, travelling across town on racedays and in the am will be fun! Though I should be on site before any major racedays, that's for sure!

Thank you - really appreciate the luck!!

good luck!best advice is get someone to share foal watch or it can get realy tiring night in and night out!if in any doubt call the vet sooners rather than later.
how exciting!i remember it well!

Chambon forgot to mention possibly one of the most important things.........CAMERA. Honestly, in the heat of the moment and all the excitement you will probably forget, but, and I speak from experience, you will regret it if you don't have one around.

Good Luck with everything, I love foaling time on HHO. My mare is due too but no idea when, or what to expect, bay arab and palomino pony? Just as long as everything is OK who cares.

Thanks everyone... I have a video camera and empty dvd at the ready (husband wanted to use it for something but wouldn't let him

I just cannot believe the time is nearly here. It seems so long ago that I stated to decide she was going to be put in foal, and then the whole putting in foal process was really stressful (she was found to be in foal to twins at 14 days).

I cannot wait to see it, but I am also panicking that I will have absolutely no idea what I am doing when it gets here or if anything goes wrong... I guess a lot of people feel like this when their horse is nearly ready to have its foal.

I promise you that some updated photos are on their way of my fat and fluffy pony. When I get home I am going to pull her mane and only then will I let you all see her. She looks a complete state at the moment, I have done absolutely nothing with her!

Don't want to put a downer on things but my mare was 21 days late having her baby and I was climbing the walls by the time he fell out. Good luck though and lots of pickies expected.

OMG i cant believe its so close!!! shes going to have an early foal isnt she!! Im hoping Bloss will have hers end of march next year (providing she takes first time that is).

no advice but i hope it all goes well for you, and i know how excited you must be feeling!!!!!!!!!

I hope she doesn't go too late as I have a holiday planned in April (I know, not the best idea in the world, but it is my Mum's 50th and we are going away for it!)

Fingers crossed & I'm sure everything will be fine. But R U ready to become a Grandma!!!! LOL

She is going to be having an early foal... she was sent to stud on 19th March and was in foal on 27th!!! She took first time with frozen semen which was not expected at all as it was also her first season too!

WOW that has come round quickly - i remember the countdown this time last year with mine - he's now 8 months old (tomorrow!)

Only advice is to trust your mare to take it in her stride - mine was a first time mum & she was brilliant, didnt need help apart from breaking the bag once he was out & at the right stage
Although have to admit i dont know what i'd have done if i didnt have the cctv on!! I'd have missed it, she came in from the field & started to have him in the daylight about 8.30pm!!

Photos please

You were very lucky, i had to go through one mare not taking at all, one mare getting in foal first time, then reabsorbing, then not taking, then finally getting in-foal, then another mare getting in-foal first time for it to be twins! I was like why me?! Luckily the pinching out was successful and now here we are.

Let your luck continue with a stunning foal and healthy mum and baby
