Omg amazing news!!!!

Thanks sooo much for all the wonderful comments. I have woken today......and I have a place at vet school :D It's still not really sunk in yet!!!

My mum came to feed Zoom with me this morning and kept giggling like a school girl :D

I have to say, I do have a sore head. I drank it.......I drank it ALL!!!!!

For those that asked about my A-levels etc.......I basically have the worst A-levels ever since there were horrible family circumstances around the time of my A-levels. However, I went through clearing to get a place to do Biology. I then did A-level chemistry at night school to prove that I am academic enough and went from there. I guarantee I have the WORST exam results of anyone who has ever got into vet school!

Fees - most vet schools charge £18k-£20k PER YEAR for graduates. However, RVC and nottingham do reduced fees for a small number of graduates so I will be paying £3.5k a year......which is why it is SO competitive to get in as a graduate (it's bad enough for the non-grads!). Last year there were 56 graduate places......this year only 25 which makes me even more :D !

Thanks again for all the support guys.......I had a rubbish two years with my dad's stroke, my parents going bankrupt because dad was poorly, my friend died in January, I lost Monty in February......I really needed this.

WHOOOOOOOOP! :D

Well done you! Yes it'll be bloomin' hard work, but well worth it in the end! Hopefully things are now on the up and up for you.

Anyway, once you qualify, please try and get a job in the Buckinghamshire area, then I will make a point of becoming one of your first clients.

Just to add my congratulations to everybody elses :o)

Huge achievement and very well done.

The question now though is do other forum users get 'mates rates' when you qualify :D

Congratulations!!!

Hawkshead and potters barn is amazing im sure you'll have great time there.
Plus from my experiences of meeting the London vets on AVS this year they all seem to be a good laugh and very friendly.
The 2nd years were even brave enough to let 15 or so dubin vets sleep in their lovely house!

Vet school is amazing im sure your going to have the time of your life for the next few years.
Remember there are ups and downs. It can be fit to make you laugh and cry at times as well as drive you up the wall with the level of work but we were all there in the same boat! the workload is an intreasting adjustment when you first get in and they throw so much at you but you do learn to swim eventually even when it feels like your sinking in sciencey non relevent ****.Plus it all does link in together in the older years and becaome so much more intreasting!
But for every bad thing there are a loads of good. The cameraderie within the collages is amazing. Here in dublin we have a policy that each older year takes the first years out on nights out to get to know them, there are varous vet nights organised throughout the year as well and loads of vet ownly clubs like ,rugby, equestrian,Carol servise at christmas...so its very much like being part of a community... then add in things like AVS,where you get to travel to meet the other Vet collages and you can see why the term Vet"incest"ary has come about!
Im only half way threw and it really is flying!i feel like its only yesterday that i got my results and offer..... I hope you have so much fun in collage...
There are plenty of post grads so at 26 your not old at all...some of the people in my year are married and have kids! and at least unlike the poor americans you know that some of us undergrads might only be 17....they didnt know that we can go straight from school over here so that was a bit of a shock to them

Seriously i hope you enjoy yourself so much congradulations. If ya ever need help with anything or just have random questions feel free to Pm ...i might not be much use as im dublin not london but hey youd never know.
