I have just been searching horse insurance for polocrosse. I am a current petplan customer so contacted them first they come back with £100 per month. :(( can anyone help. (problem is he is on loan and they are insisting I put value in at £4000

Try NFU Mutual, they are the UKPA's main insurers and sponsors and they do my horse for £60 ish a month and he is insured for more than £4k. Otherwise Windsor might also be good as they do the personal accident cover for the UKPA but I'm not sure whether they actually do horse insurance, I would think they must as they insure the pony club but never actually looked into it.

It depends what you want to insure for - I've just insured my polo pony and could only find 2 places that would insure for loss of use (NFU and Weatherbys) - everywhere else would only insure for vets fees and mortality... I don't know if you would have similar problems for polocrosse. The cheapest I could find was Lycetts - they specialise in polo ponies so they might be good for polocrosse - annual premium of £300 for £7500 pony. If you want to have loss of use as well, then Weatherbys was much cheaper than NFU (and I think they insure all horses - not just TBs as mine isn't a TB!)

Hope that helps!
