OMG Horse tryed to kick mee!!!!!

I dont agree with any of what you've said sorry!! they naturally protect their food so why should she be made to change,

op muck out then put her feed in as you've finished and are leaving!, ps please sort out you're spelling as it hurts my eyes when the letters are in the wrong order, or there are too many of them in a word...

Agree with this 100% including the spelling - it really irritates me!

When my horse comes in he has his feet picked out and oiled while he's eating and has never tried to kick. He even moves over and holds his feet up for me.
I've done this since he was a yearling so maybe he's used to it?
I groom him while he munches his hay and in the winter i muck out around him, again no kicking, ears back or defensive action from him at all.
All horses are different and some like to be left alone and others don't mind and it's a case of knowing your horse.

i see you still haven't answered any questions including my own so ill ask general HHO if a horse is food aggressive does that apply to likits and treats?

I would just leave her while she eats :) I can groom my lad and mess around with him while he eats, but that's because we know each other inside out, and he's a complete donkey who loves a good scrub with a dandy brush even more than he loves food...

One of my horses threatened to kick me once (he didn't have the excuse of food, he was loose in the stable, didn't actually lash out but swung his bum round, ears back and lifted a leg) and I shouted at him extremely loudly and gave him a huge smack on the bum... He never even hinted at kicking ever again :p

The horse is getting her own back. If her feet connect with the head of her owner, some sense may be knocked into it.

Is anyone else beginning to think this child has nothing better to do than post stupid scenarios for us to waste precious time answering?

I wonder what the next problem will be.

have no experience of horse being like this when eating, but can do anything when my share horse is eating dosn't bat an eye lid- as long as he's got food he's happy bless him :D if you havnt got the time to actually sort the issue out feed after you've mucked out as you're leaving....commen sense? ;)

a bomb could drop on Shy and he wouldn't worry as long as he has his grub. In fact, he's happy to share his with our lab. As long as lab leaves him to lick the floor clean  but yup, I prefer him to have his sups while me and lab are nosey-ing elsewhere.
