Am bouncing up and down with excitement.

All thanks to Law - you're an absolute star! She found the telephone number of the girl who used to own Finni circa 1999 and evented him up to intermediate (Well her Mum's No anyway).

Apparently he wasn't accident prone, didn't bite and never had colic

They bought him as a 6 year old SJ who'd never done any XC or dressage and brought him on. Apparently he was always a natural XC.

And contrary to what I thought, he didn't stop on the intermediate XC but a stirrup leather broke.

He's always been a XC demon and had no respect for SJ.

Her Mum was really excited to hear about him and said they often think of him as he was such a "character"

Her Mum gave me the girl's e-mail address and i've sent her some pictures, so shall wait to hear back.

Thanks again Law - I owe you a HUGE drink.

This has made my Year

FinnMCcoul I am sooooo utterly totally and hugely excited for you and chuffed to bits. It's lovely to learn more about your horses past and I'm chuffed to have been able to help you.
I can't wait to hear how old owner is - it's been at least 12 years since we were in touch.
Have to add that it is thanks to the kindness of another internet friend of mine that we managed to get the phone number. So THANKYOU to my favourite Scottish Auntie xxx

Considering there is 500 miles between me and her (originally) and how many hundred between you and I, I think it's miraculous really!

I have found my old pony, too. His new owner contacted me and made my Christmas. It is with great sadness I let him go and it wasn't the long term home they promised. Although he was registered, his next new people still hadn't transferred him into their name, so his breed society couldn't notify them I was searching. All's well that ends well, and he is in the best home I could have dreamed possible. I am so relieved to know he is OK. I will never sell another, as even two and a half years didn't dull the pain. It has been replaced by total happiness for him. He is VERY, very safe and dearly loved and this is all I ever wanted for him.

I have given his family all the details of his early days and what he did with us, explained how I chose his name and sent pictures of him. What a handsome fellow he is today! I hope what information I have passed across helps 'complete' their bond and make him totally 'theirs' - so to speak.

I know! She seemed truely shocked at his grumpiness and colic too.

She was so pleased to hear about him.

Sent Katie some pictures last night but haven't heard back from her yet. Hoping she might have some of him as a gangly baby.
