OMG - I have just seen those horrific pictures...

I hope that poor boy went quickly :-(

It beggers belief and my heart goes out to the owners, it's hard enough to lose an animal you love with out having to live with the fact that someone took it's innocent life away and did those horrific things.

Having also been told the above, I think that it is awful that one of our 'local' magazines has a picture on their website:mad: - will some people do anything for a story? The poor owner I really hope that she never sees the pictures.
 
What the hell are these people thinking? What is it for? Sexual gratification? Sadism? Some weird cult? The mind boggles that there are people out there in society capable of such sickness.

Can someone please give me the jist of what's going on?

As i simply cannot bare to open the link if the photos are very much present (i'm one of those people where the image will stay with me forever and not ever fade in time and I already have too many!)

Also, I get the idea that something happened to the horses, but the police must take this seriously as its very common knowledge that the type of person who can knowing harm with intent to cause serious harm to an animal will do so to people too. When will they get tough on animal cruelty, if not for the animals (which would be my interest) but for the sake of society too, who will be effected if they don't get caught and punished.

I really hope they catch who ever did this, for the sake of the amimanl and the family, also that the cuts were too precise for it to be deliquients (sp).
 
To be honest, why wasn't the horse covered up? The owners, I am sure could have dealt with it so that the media were not able to get these photos. I am sure they wont see the photographs unless they specifically search for them. Im surprised so many of you are shocked these images are on the 'net. You can see ANYTHING on the internet! There's plenty of human death everywhere - beheadings etc. anything you like you can find and watch if that's your "thing". There's numerous websites set up purely with videoes of this stuff! In fact they made a film out of people being killed (called something like "made in America" I think)! I imagine those people who were killed have families... imagine them being able to see this sort of stuff... so these photos don't surpise me.

Awful and really quite unbelievable, but these horrid things happen more often than you think. There's been things like that happen up here a few times. I bought one of my horses from a woman who's horse made the headlines a few years back for similar-ish injuries which amazingly survived but the mare lost the foal she was carrying as a direct result. I personally don't know how I'd cope seeing my horse in this state, but I'd make damn sure the media never got to see it purely because I feel the attention gives other nasty people ideas.
 
Jesus Christ! Thats psychotic behavior and the person needs to be caught and jailed asap as looking at that its a disturbed person and if they can do that to animal they must be a danger to humans as well.

this is just terrible . but i feel its odd that the hair on his coat isnt stained with blood after such things have took place seems to me the police will be further into this than we think they are

agree with above and whilst we think this is one sick individual in reality there must have been more!!! Totally depraved sick people who need to be caught asap!!!! the poor pony, just cant imagine how awful for the owners! I agree - weird. Rather disgustingly looks like someone has spent quite a bit of time and 'care' doing this.. depraved!
 
Horrific.... How could anyone do this to an innocent animal. there really are some sickos in the world...ne question- why?


I hope they catch the peple/person who did this but the punishment won't befit the crime.

Hi, I was made aware of this case a week or so ago (im an equine liason officer of the police), if I remember rightly the press were told before the police, however they were only allowed to say very little about it.
I should have the results of the post mortum when I go back tomorrow, please bare in mind we have had mutelations before and they do turn out to be natural deaths and then other animals have started to eat the body.
Its really not nice the poor horse and fingers crossed if it has been done by someone then they are caught.

BUT

Also after reading the richplanet.net page, im not suprised to see that the owners are interetsed in UFO's, where it is believed they do this to animals,and they did contact the tv show before the police!
There was a spate of this in the 90's with horses and cows being mutelated by suposed UFO's and it was found that some owners were doing them selves to get tv coverage!

The law is an ass and won't punish them the way they deserve to be punished if they even get caught which is highly unlikely. Justice has no teeth any more and never will until people realise that life is worth more than money.
Poor poor owners I hope they never see the pictures.

unfortunately it looks like a premeditated and calculated act. from the lack of blood at the scene and on the poor animal one can only assume that the mutilations were post mortem, therefore askin the question how this poor horse died and if he was enthanised then how did this person get hold of the appropriate drugs? we can only hope this is the case and therefore he would not have suffered.
the wounds look quite surgical, slightly worrying that they obviously have some knowledge.

completely not what i expected from the police reports earlier in the week

I don't particularly want to open the link again after seeing it last night but it would seem that someone fairly close to the case must have contacted the people at richplanet as they are not local and didn't it say that there is a TV programme about it coming out next month?

Its especially horrible to think of the planning that must have gone into this. Presumably most people don't go for a walk in the countryside armed with the means to kill a horse and then scalpels or similar to dissect parts of the body to take away with them?

mmmmmmmm, you said exactly what I was thinking and I am surprised it took so long for it to be said........the report from the TV people made odd reading, although if I read it correctly the owners and the Land owner (who called the tv show) are different people. I am afraid I am perhaps cynical but I reckon this will turn out to be close to home and I think it is awful. What an odd thing to do, find a dead and mutilated horse so call a tv show, weird. Poor boy, I hope his end came quickly, how the hell do the poor owners deal with that!!

FWIW there are links between bedwetting, particularly if the child is abused and humiliated as a result, fire setting, animal cruelty and serial killers, IOW MacDonalds triad.

Some times if a person has been abused he in turn abuses animals because he can't get back at his abuser.

Obviously not all serial killers wet the bed or abused animals and not everyone who wets his bed goes on to become serial killers, but the link is there..

Note, I am not condoning or excusing the behavior

Poor horse. I do hope for his sake he was gone before the attacker started dissecting the innocent creature.

Really don't understand how one human being can be so sick?! There are far too many loonies about and it honestly scares me (this case is about 40 minutes away from our yard!).

If I was the owner or friend of the owner's horse, then I would be contacting the magazine to ask for the 'pictures' (or even article) to be removed out of respect. I haven't read the article as the pictures made me feel sick.
 
Article today in our local paper The Argus, headlined, "Was horse's death ritual slaughter?" Police according to this seem baffled and have no suspects.
 
...... have just started to browse through today's Argus newspaper, and here is an article about this horse!

...... linked to a cult.... witchcraft!.... innocent victim of a black magic fanatic...and goes on but also mentions the possibility of a grudge.

Sussex Police are asking for information.
