*warning* Shameless, I love my horse post!
This was my precious when I got him in December 2009. Your typical scrawney, scrappy 4yr old exracer. I loved him the moment I saw him and when asking my mum if he was worth a punt she said 'God, yes!!'. When my friends and horsie associates saw him I think they thought I was bonkers.. they were like 'mmmm, yes he's errr nice....' ha ha.
Looking very ordinary, be honest.. how many of you would have brought him if you were looking for your forever after horse, the one to achieve your dreams on?
Then my sister took a picture of me on him yesterday. I was only pootling around the school as he has lost a shoe. Now if I hadn't of told you would you think its the same horse??
He's a beast now!!! He's just 6 and whats even more worrying is the osteopath and saddler say he's going to still fill out more?! He's going to be HUGE! I'm so proud of him. My little bargain pony come good. He's a star, he does everything, jumps anything and he's got lovely paces and is super scopey, i'm also proud of myself as i'm the only one who rides him. If anything I find myself with a horse thats a bit nicer then what I need! People don't believe hes a pure racing bred TB, they think i'm lying lol.
Ex-racers can be such hidden Gems, they really can.
I'm really thinking I must do some ROR showing on him, what do you think? Also i'm slightly paranoid about my new saddle that i'm sitting on in the picture, it doesn't look like its slipped forward has it? Do you think it looks OK?
Here are some more pictures. I really should crack on with more serious competing but i'm quite enjoying just having a bit of fun still.
What do you think of him?
