Beautifully put, Cruiseline. I'll let your words speak for me too.......

SK, I agree the soldiers sacrifice should get more news, but MJ touched the lives of millions of people, with his music.
I think he had a sad early life and hope his life latterly was happier with his children.
I will remember him with a smile, his wonderful music got me many a dance with some incredibly good looking young men, as they like me just wanted to move to his music..
I hope he is at peace now and his family get some sort of normal life. (though quite who will look after them I really can't think)

I found out this morning that he had died and just couldn't believe it, such a shock.
He truly was the king of pop and there will be no one that comes close to his statue in the industry ever again.
RIP

his personal life is irrelevant to his huge contribution to modern music, which is what and should be remembered rather than other "issues" his amazing talent cannot be disputed, artists these days are just not the allround entertainers that he was

How sad and such a shock. RIP Michael and I hope his children are able to live a more normal life than he was ever allowed to. Agree with above, he was hugely talented, his music, singing, dancing really was something else.

Tragic loss of a total legend.
I was too young to see him live the first time round but saved the pennies and bought tickets to the O2 gig.
Am gutted that I won't be able to experience this now as i'm sure it would've been once in a life time.

It is sad... But there was always a big question over Micheals attraction to children... Hence i cant help thinking.... everyone seems to have forgotton this.

To me thats the main thing i remember, second to his music.

Has it ever actually been proven that he's done anything wrong though?

Yes i would like to believe that he was totally innocent too..

There is a saying 'no smoke without fire'.

If the truth is that he is totally innocent though - poor bloke. I'm willing to give him the benifit of the doubt, especially now.

I am still in shock at this news - I have spent the whole day reminiscing about his music - I still remember going into my friend's mum's work to watch the Thriller video - it was such a big deal - the office was jam-packed with so many people - a reaction like that just wouldn't happen these days - I was only about 11 at the time but it had an amazing impact on me - It also terrified me! LOL!- He was a massive icon - his music and talent spread across generations - 70s/80s/90s and here we are in the 00s wondering why we've lost another amazingly talented person at such a young age

RIP Michael Jackson - you truly are a star shining bright

I'm so sad that he died - he was a brilliant performer and singer. I remember he phoned a girl up at my boarding school (he did charity work with her mum) on her birthday and it made her so happy - it was a very kind thing to remember to do. Whatever his private life was, I think it should be just that - private. You have only to look at the generations of young singers who are inspired by him and the number of imitators on the talent shows, to realise that he made a great impression on so many people.

Yes i agree, lovely statement.
Its very sad, i have always liked him very much and thought he had suffered some mental illness and went through the mill with the press.
Very sad loss indeed imo, he was an icon, and i think he deserves alot of limelight to send him off

RIP Michael

Oh please. One less pervert and weirdo imho. The music was good, shame about the rest of it. We will never know the truth, but he was WEIRD! Sad for his family, thats it really.

Skidaw - the nose job may be one thing - but so many people have plastic surgery now that why should that be a problem...I mean look at Jordan.....her nose is certainly not her own! Vitiligo or not, there is nothing wrong with someone having a nose job if they want to - it was his to do what he wanted with after all!

Considering his father used to call him 'Big Nose' I am not surprised that he had issues with it.

So far as the vitiligo is concerned.... he used to have more white patches than black so had to decide which colour to match up

It's sad, he's dead. Yes his music back in the 80's when I was a kid was great and will always be legendary but he messed with his body far too much and no doubt this was a major stress on his body as well as his general (questionable!) mental state.

Still, he died quickly and wouldn't have known much. People die every day in worse circumstances and now quite frankly I wish they'd put something on TV other than MJ tribute progs. I wanted a nice relaxing friday night in with TV and wine!!!

RIP Michael Jackson.

You were a absolute legend. I grew up on your music and i can't believe you have gone at such a young age

"In 2006, Jordan Chandler accused his father of abuse. The accuser, now 26, says his ex-dentist dad Evan Chandler “struck him on the head from behind with … (dumbbell) weight … sprayed his eyes with Mace or pepper spray, and tried to choke him” last year, according to court documents filed in New Jersey.

Jordan is a legal fight with his father, Evan Chandler. Jordan sued his father because in mid 2005 (now his father is suing him as well) his father tried to KILL HIM. How do I know this? COURT PAPERS. Jordan Chandler accuses his father of hitting him over the head with a 12-pound weight, spraying his eyes with mace and trying to choke him.

Why isn’t this information all over TMZ? Why isn’t Diane Dimond all over this one? If Diane can find out what underwear Tom Sneddon is wearing, why can’t she find out about this case? Perhaps because she may be afraid to know why EVAN CHANDLER would do something like that to his own SON. Perhaps she fears what she will find out. I would think that Evan Chandler trying to take out his son would be ALL OVER THE NEWS. I’m wrong. These folks don’t care about Jordan Chandler and what happens to him if it not related to Michael Jackson. But, who says it isn’t? Some alleged Evan and Jordan dispute is over money! You know that money they got from Michael Jackson’s insurance. I wonder, if Evan Chandler was capable of causing such injuries to his own son over what some allege is money, then why wouldn’t he be capable of falsely accusing a rich celebrity to get that money. It seems nothing stands in the way of Evan Chandler. Not even Jordan Chandler."

I'm probably going to get stoned to death for this by outraged fans but he lived life on the edge with a history of addictions to painkillers and abuse of his body, as well as a more than normal chequered past. Yes he was 50 but his body had been abused for so long its not so surprising.

I have my theory of his death, but I know this much (and call me a suspicious person) but I think if he had performed those concerts he would have been ridiculed by the press because lets face it after 12 years of not performing he was never going to be the MJ of the 'good old days' and his persona would have been ruined. The press were waiting for him to fall. So, why not go out as the worlds biggest legend rather than 'that odd guy who couldn't cut it on his comeback'.

I think we might never know the real reason for his death but I for one don't think its straightforward 'natural causes' bearing mind his addiction to prescription drugs. I can't see the family letting anything bad be released about his death. But I wonder.....

Ok, do I need to go into hiding?
