went down to the field with my friend to try and catch her boy as he would come in and as we turned the corner for the field he was on top of a 16.3 mare the pony being 14 hands we thought he would be able to reach but well it was all going on I was horrified :O naughty little chestnut !!!!!! right my question is what are the chances of him being a rig! he has been acting very stalionish poohing smelling it and pawing it and ten walking a bit and doing the same he is also herding the 2 big mares and with the other dominant gelding he is arching neck and throwing feet legs at him just seams odd for a gelding there are 3 other geldings in with them and a 3 yr old mare who he is't bothered with !

just a bit worried but what to do ?????

well done for getting this far jelly tots :)

My new pony is very riggy. He is 9 this year and wasn't cut till he was 7  He is very dominant, i have seen him mount mares and is a typical stallion ( has a real make me attitude) :(. I have put him on a global herb suplement called Rig Calm. (amazing stuff) He's calmed right down and isn't such a pain in the field to the other horses. It's strong stuff i have to be careful none of it gets fed to the stallion on the yard who is going to be used for breading otherwise he'll be no good :p. Hope that is of some help to you. :D

Its best to have him blood tested to be sure.

Just because a horse has had his ball off, doesn't be they don't get fruity! lol

i feel sorry for the owners off the mares although keep laughing about it we have moved yard me and friend and have only seen him like this once befor and tried to attack my boy my boy soon put him in his place vet is coming to morra for somthing els on the yard so think they ging to speak to him

lol naughty boy :D

Worth getting the vet to test that he isn't a rig. However one of my geldings is not a rig but gets obsessed about the mares come springtime. Although he doesn't mount them he spends the day running them ragged round the field chasing off the other geldings. I am normally happy to keep the mares and geldings together but I now keep him in a separate field with one other gelding.
