Awwhh what a shame , i guess , it saved you alot more money thought than keeping him , dont worry there's another horse out there for you![]()
Honestly dont worry, If you are really worried how about asking the dealer to give you the new owners number ?i worry where he will end up![]()
Wow you are VERY lucky to get a refund. I didn't with a totally broken horse that I brought off connections to do with where you got your horse. I suspect mine was vetted by same vet, he passed it as suitable for SJ and Hunting when my vet said it was lame as hell and would never make more than a hack!
I got rid of mine asap. It was sad but my OH said something that stuck with me 'you cannot be responsible for the fate of every horse and we are not a charity. There is a horse fated to stay with you forever but unfortunatly it is not this horse'.
He was right, I dont even miss the horse now. I have a fantastic new horse who is everything I wanted and I will stick through any illnesses which may arise in our partnership. It is not fair however to buy a horse with a problem that you haven't been told about, the responsibilty for that horse lies with the person who missold him. You are lucky the dealer realises that.
You will find one, the one you are meant to be withThink of it as a lucky escape!!
So did you ever find out exactly what was wrong with him?
what happened? so sorry x
Is there anyway you could get a refund and still keep him, maybe as a companion? Surely the dealer wont be able to sell him on? Really sorry for you tho, must be horrible x
I'm so sorry. What a shame.
I think you should also pursue the vet that vetted him. I'd make an official complaint with the RCVS and demand your money back from the vets themselves.
What are you looking for, and what is your budget? I might know of something.

im sorry but i for one will be very surprised if you get your money back
what the dealer says on phone to what will actually happen is 2 totally different things.
hes already fobbing you off till "maybe next week "
there will be somebody at dealers able to take horse back and refund surely.
i really hope im just being totally un trusting and all goes as you think it will.
I also wouldn't count your chickens...... Wait until the money is in your hand.
We will keep our fingers crossed for you though.
In the meantime report the dealer to trading standards and the vet. You might wish to make a formal complaint to the vet and to the RCVS if your vet believes that this horse should not have passed a 5* vetting.
Good luck.
