OMG Rain!!!

It's honestly has never stopped raining up here for the past 2 weeks.
The fields are like swimming pools, in saying that my 2 are out 24/7 with access to the shelter & are rugged.
They are hardier than we think.

XxX

its bad isn't it! am debating playing the "i can't come to work because my house is flooded" card in the morning :D my two were VERY unimpressed with me when i went to catch them this evening

I think you could get away with it..its shocking!! are you dog walking past mine tonight?? do you fancy checking lol...my lights keep flickering!!

Yep, up here in Cumbria, it's been bucketing down all day. Fortunately I only work 10 mins drive from the yard, so I went up at lunchtime to bring my two in as they'd been out since 6.30am. Bloody wimpy TBs! Both looked very dejected and were more than happy to come and in eat hay. Getting the boy out of his field wasn't fun - he was almost up to his fetlocks in mud and I was sliding all over - wouldn't have been a good look going back to work having fallen in thick gloopy mud!

We got some ex battery hens a week ago, and they have hardly ventured outside in the past week when it was sunny. After catching all the horses tonight I went to shut the hens in, and they were all outside, going, "this free range lark isn't all its cracked up to be..." Then I had to chase them for ten minutes to get them to go in! Finally got everything fed and watered, and was about to light a log fire, when I remembered it was pony club, so had to trek out in the rain and sit through the kids' road safety lesson! And pay out £50 to re join!! Finally got in an hour ago, and can't be bothered lighting the fire - just going to bed (once I've dried my hair for the fourth time today!)
